The Idaho State Tax Commission is recruiting for Tax Compliance Technicians in Boise

This announcement may be used to fill current and future full-time Tax Compliance Technician positions.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enforce Idaho tax laws including assessment and collection of taxes

  • Provide taxpayers technical information on all tax types administered by the Idaho State Tax Commission and assistance in preparing tax returns

  • Interview individuals to obtain facts and research a variety of sources to obtain financial information

  • Consult taxpayers or their representatives and advise them that tax liens, levies and warrants may be executed

  • Negotiate seizure of assets such as bank accounts and pay checks

  • Secure and review taxpayers’ financial statements and verify information for compromise agreements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Composing narrative business documents

  • Using basic math skills in a business setting

  • Using computer programs such as Word and Excel

  • Conducting internet research in a college or business setting

  • Interpreting technical materials such as spreadsheets, financial statements and/or laws and rules

  • Independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting

Individuals must be a current tax filer and be in full compliance with their tax obligations to be an employee of the Idaho State Tax Commission.
