QA Associate/Sample Receiving Tech- North St. Paul, MN

Kelly Scientific Resources is currently seeking a QA Associate/Sample Receiving Tech for one of our top clients in St. Paul, MN. This is a temp to hire position.

As a Tech placed with Kelly Scientific, the responsibilities of this position are two-fold. The first responsibility is for the overall operation of Sample Receiving, including: receiving deliveries, checking-in samples, disposing of expired materials, completing sample container orders, and distributing paperwork. The second is assisting with the overall implementation and management of the laboratory Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program and ensuring that quality objectives established by management, regulatory programs and project plans are met.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

Sample Custodian:

Processes incoming samples; inspects sample to insure they are in good condition and meet method compliance; sign appropriate chain of custody documents to receive samples. Maintains a Chain of Custody record for all samples. Assigns laboratory numbers to all samples. Routes paperwork to appropriate personnel. Stores samples; places samples in appropriate storage area to insure proper sample preservation; maintains temperature of storage areas; assists in keeping storage areas organized to allow quick and easy access of samples; controls access to samples to protect those stored under custody. Accepts and ships all packages via UPS, FedEx, or courier, and delivers them to appropriate personnel as needed. Assembles and ships client bottle orders in a timely manner.

QA/QC Assistant:

Responsible for assisting QA/QC functions, including standard operating procedures revisions and maintenance of other Quality Assurance documents. Reviews data packages reported by the organization to meet customer and/or regulatory specifications. Maintains company chemical inventory list. Conducts and reports internal audits and evaluations. Assists with scheduled on-site evaluations by clients and regulatory agencies

Job Requirements:

BS/BA in Chemistry or related field Demonstrated knowledge of various analytical chemistry techniques and general laboratory safety procedures used in an environmental laboratory
