Job Title: Ceramics Technician II
Project Duration: Contract, 6 months
Project Location: Corning, NY
Work Hours: 40 hours/ week, 8:00am to 5:00pm. No OT planned, requires prior approval
Pay Rate: $23.35 to $32.90/Hourly, DOE (no Benefits)
$43,200 to $60,800 DOE Salaried Limited Benefits (paid holidays, paid vacation)
Position encompasses scientific and technological principles involved in the processing of clays, silicates, and other nonmetallic minerals with desired properties into commercial products
Researches, designs, develops, and tests ceramic materials and products
Develops or modifies related process and product technologies to improve the performance of existing products
Position is within the ceramic firing process development group
Responsibilities of Position
Preparation of samples for firings (order up ware, weigh, laser gauge, fill out firing requests)
Processing samples post-firing (thorough fissure and crack inspection and documentation, weigh, laser gauge, prep and submit physical property samples)
Processing, organization, and analyzing of data (thermocouple results, weight, laser gauge, physical properties)
Required Experience (MUST have to be considered)
Minimum of 3 years current experience as a Ceramics Technician
Solid experience in Microsoft Excel and Word (data analysis)
Experienced with Sample Prep
Experience with measurement devices
Sound knowledge of job and a substantial acquaintance with the general aspects of a Ceramics Technician job
Intermediate level technical understanding
PPE - standard equipment is provided
Additional Required Skills
Implement standard procedures and proposes intermediate level modifications to improve workflow
Will still generally obtain input to solve more complex problems
Works under general site supervision
Able to gather information independently using established and defined procedures
Able to train new employees to established procedures
Takes initiative in the area of continuous improvement
Uses some discretion
Contacts are typically within organization - may occasionally have contacts with others outside of the organization to seek clarity or ask for interpretation
Completed AAS in a related field is required (Materials, Ceramics, Biology, Chem)
No third party resumes will be accepted

W2 only, no C2C or 1099 arrangements available
Candidates must currently reside in USA or Canada
