General Dynamics Information Technology Proposal Manager (Government Contracting Industry Experience Required) in Fairfax, Virginia

Job Description

The Health & Civilian Solutions Division of GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Proposal Manager in Fairfax, VA. The Proposal Manager will manage the development and revision of major proposals and supervises assigned staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the Proposal Development Life-cycle from RFP release to Award Notification guided by the GDIT eBDP

  • Pre-Proposal Phase - Tasks include but not limited to the following:

  • Build Proposal Plan

  • Develop Proposal Strategy

  • Prepare Proposal Outline

  • Outline Review

  • Create Storyboards/Annotated Outline/Content Plan

  • Storyboard/Annotated Outline/Content Plan Review

  • Finalize Proposal Team

  • Proposal Phase - Tasks include but not limited to the following:

  • Update Proposal Plan

  • Conduct Kickoff Meeting

  • Train Proposal Team

  • Transition/Update Storyboards

  • Conduct and Respond to Pink Team

  • Develop Orals/Demo Plan

  • Draft Text, Graphics and Presentations

  • Finalize Executive Summary

  • Conduct and Respond to Red Team (Lead or Assign)

  • Conduct and Respond to Gold Team (Lead or Assign)

  • Produce Proposal

  • Conduct Final QA

  • Deliver Proposal

  • Maintains working knowledge of the SharePoint Collaboration Tool to include permissions and simultaneous collaboration

  • Maintains all GDIT required Training

  • Is flexible and can support extra hours as needed as required by the position

Education

Bachelors Degree in a related business discipline or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of related experience managing proposal efforts in a government contracting environment.

  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills

  • Strong Organizational Skills

  • Ability to effectively lead teams through the proposal development life-cycle

  • Ability to complete work under tight deadlines

  • Ability to use the following programs:

  • SharePoint 2010 or above

  • Adobe Acrobat

  • MS Office Suite - Emphasis on the following programs Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
