Zodiac Aerospace Product Support Engineer in GARDEN GROVE, California

Responsible for providing technical support related to the operation and maintenance of Zodiac Aero Water and Waste Systems (ZWWS, formerly known as Monogram Systems) products.

Technical liaison with Zodiac Aero Water and Waste Systems departments (Engineering/Sustaining, Quality, Repair,…).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

For Zodiac Aero Water and Waste Systems equipment in service:

  • Answer Customer’s daily technical queries on products operation and maintenance

  • Provides customer on-site technical support/services as required such as

  • On A/C Troubleshooting

  • Presentation to Customers on products technical in-service experience

  • Follows up and enforce in-service technical issues resolution in close liaison with Zodiac OEM (Zodiac Aero Water and Waste Systems):

  • Investigate with OEM Engineering/Sustaining/Quality on technical issues reported by Customers

  • Perform necessary products examination

  • Lead or participate to Root Cause Analysis

  • Lead & participate in technical issue resolution with OEM Engineering/Sustaining/Quality

  • Provide 24/7 Technical hotline limited to Airframers when required by applicable contract

  • Report to OEM any major incident/accident occurred with our products during operation & maintenance

  • Provide Training to Customers with help of Repair Stations or OEM as necessary

  • Provide necessary Technical support internal to Zodiac Services (Sales, Repair Station, …)

a) Education

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering (preferred) or Electrical Engineering.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

b) Experience

  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in engineering-related position linked to commercial and/or general aviation airframe or equipment e.g. design engineering, sustaining, technical support, service engineering.

c) Knowledge and Technical skills

  • Ability to work several issues in parallel

  • Ability to work in team

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

  • Ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and specifications, including electrical and mechanical.

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations and mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.

  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

d) Communication Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or top management.

  • Ability to lead a technical meeting

  • Ability to give technical presentations to Customers

e) Physical Demands

  • Incumbent in this position must occasionally squat, crawl, climb, crouch, kneel, balance and push/pull and may be required to reach above shoulder level, must frequently bend/stoop. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs

  • Average visual acuity is required; must be able to use video display terminal, and color acuity is required. This job requires better than average manual dexterity; while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. Must be able to operate moving devises/tools and operate vehicles.

  • Ability to travel to Customers/OEM or other ZS sites on a short notice
