Within a maintenance & operational environment across Cameronbridge and Leven Spirit Supply, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting & driving the overall maintenance strategy and implementation through functional disciplines

  • Adopting key problem solving techniques and embedding within maintenance team

  • Supporting the drive towards common engineering standards across International Supply Centre (ISC)

  • Carrying out a wide range of maintenance related tasks including troubleshooting, problem solving, and management of resources.

  • Leading the mechanical engineering department, and ensuring the continued development of all team members

  • Working to ensure compliance with Diageo Global Risk Management Standards.

  • Support the delivery of CARM & LTO compliance & carrying out quarterly safety inspections and audits

  • Review & updating work instructions, risk assessments & ppm task lists for maintenance activities

  • Support and drive adherence to management of change protocols

  • Ensure maintenance representation at Hazop, Risk Assessments, Hazcon, and Hazdem.

  • Ensure accurate and up to date criticality of all site assets

  • Fulfil the role of capex sponsor for function & develop business case for capex proposals

  • Support the development of capex plans with functional input for site requirements

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations and relevant legislation and standards.

  • Development of maintenance team in both functional and behavioural capabilities

  • Lead, attend and contribute to appropriate management meetings and team briefs

  • Prepared to coach others and provide balanced feedback and challenge

Top 3-5 Accountabilities

Optimise the mechanical engineering resources to ensure people, equipment & plant objectives are met in full or exceeded, and all legislative requirements are met.

Investigation and remedying of engineering problems in all areas of operations through optimised ways of working and use of RCPS tools and using appropriate resources

Key Permit writer, method statement approver and Duty manager.

Manage external contractors and suppliers to ensure they deliver expected level of service.

Qualifications and Experience Required


HNC or equivalent in a mechanical discipline

NEBOSH General certificate or the ability to work towards this


Excellent mechanical experience gained within the maintenance function of a process industry is essential

Knowledge of grain distilling plant and processes and experience leading lean manufacturing initiatives would be advantageous
