Description Job Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Greensboro, NC

Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Contract) to work from their Greensboro, NC manufacturing facility.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


  • Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products

  • Create manufacturing documentation (bills of material, travelers, work instructions, etc.)

  • Design, select, and procure fixtures, tools, and machinery

  • Implement continuous improvements to reduce defects, improve speed, and grow profitability

  • Resolve purchased material issues and disposition non-conforming assemblies

  • Provide shop floor support and training to assemblers

  • Improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards

  • Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies


  • Working knowledge of MS Office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks

  • Strong ability to handle complex problems

  • Strong skills in multitasking, problem solving, and ethical decision making

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering

  • Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • CCA experience

  • Fiber-optic experience

  • Experience with PRO III MRP system

  • Working knowledge of Lean Six-Sigma techniques and tools
