IQE MBE Wafer Fab Technician in Greensboro, North Carolina

The MBE Wafer Fab Technician operates MBE systems and performs tasks related to the production of epiwafers. They must be able to coordinate the workflow of daily tasks and be proficient in troubleshooting. A high level of initiative is necessary to work with minimal direct supervision. They must be motivated and outgoing with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at various levels. Good communication skills are key as well as good organizational and documentation skills

  • Operate assigned MBE production systems:

  • Unload epiwafers/ load raw wafers

  • Write/update/check recipes daily

  • Flux measurements – daily As with adjustment made as necessary to achieve targets

  • Daily BandIt checks with data entry

  • Operate all MBE characterization equipment and characterize wafers

  • Use the MBE WIP tracking system to assign characterization cassette numbers, enter run data, enter characterization data, load platens, complete runs, start runs

  • Knowledge and understanding of all Operational MBE related ISO procedures related to the MBE Technician position.

  • Ability to operate multiple MBE tools simultaneously without compromising throughput or yield from either tool.

  • Understands, monitors, and logs MBE characterization parameter control charts

  • Maintain the MBE process parameters.

  • Total epilayer thickness adjustments through gallium adjustments and offsets.

  • Subcollector Si adjustments for total resistance.

  • Al composition adjustments from PL results.

  • Record data in logbooks and organize printed characterization and run sheets

  • Attention to detail. Always knows status of MBE

  • Basic understanding of MBE process and vacuum technology

  • Suggests ways to improve process and participates in all departmental quality improvement activities

  • Performs other duties and functions as required.

Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D. Although Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and training are preferred.

Required: Experience with Ultra High Vacuum systems and semiconductor wafer handling.

Preferred: Experience with MBE growth of GaAs materials preferred

Must be able to follow very detailed instruction to completion.
