The opportunity:

The Continuous Improvement, Safety and Reliability Manager will interface with all plant operations, production system teams and managers to achieve plant objectives/goals. This position is responsible for project management using Six Sigma methodology, provides miscellaneous assistance to General Manager and plant as needed, responsible for best practices/assist with compiling procedures, lead Kaizens (blitz events), analyze data and offer ways to improve.The CI/Safety/Reliability Manager provides cross-functional leadership to determine, design, drive and accomplish measurable business process improvements, as well as lead the overall Reliability improvement ef?fort of the plant as well as overall responsibility for managing the Safety program for the plant. Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, Salcon Audit standards, and WestRock policies; and that employee safety programs are implemented and carried out. Conducts and schedules training programs. Ensures company policies/guidelines are adhered to.

How you will impact WestRock:

Responsible for continuous improvement of the maintenance and safety systems and leading the Continuous Improvement Pillar Team.

The CI/Reliability Manager will have overall responsibility for plant equipment maintenance and should be knowledgeable about maintenance planning and scheduling practices

Responsible for leading the Equipment Reliability Pillar as part of Performance Excellence.

Provides safety training to supervisors and employee groups to establish clear procedures on safety measures and precautions.

Leads Root Cause investigations and prepares reports on workplace injuries and accidents.

Facilitates Safety Committee Meetings and Training Sessions.

What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred (preferably in engineering, business, or technology field).

Experience using Reliability tools such as Pareto analysis, Loss analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) preferred.

Proven leadership skills in developing strategies to attain performance objectives required.

Provides safety training to supervisors and employee groups to establish clear procedures on safety measures and precautions. Conducts investigations and prepares reports on workplace injuries and accidents.

Facilitates safety committee meetings and training sessions

Experience in operations management preferred.

Experience working with advanced Predictive Maintenance tools such as Infrared, Vibration, Oil, and Ultrasonic analysis, shaft and machine alignment, and precision maintenance preferred.

Experience working with computers and computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and CMMS (JDE) is required.

Strong interpersonal skills, proven team development experience, must be able to work with people at all levels of the organization.
