Job Description

Job Summary:

The Patient Safety Associate performs basic patient monitoring activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Responsibilities:

  • Remains at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.

  • Assists in calming and/or reorienting patient in cases of agitation or confusion.

  • Removes visible hazards and/or broken equipment from immediate environment and reports as appropriate.

  • Assists with keeping patient's room clean, safe and orderly.

  • As directed, continuously rounds on patient care unit to contribute to patient safety and identify, report and eliminate safety risks.

  • Shift is from 7am to 7pm every other weekend.

  • Shift requires 50% Holidays.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Finger Printing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

  • Knowledge of English language in order to understand and transmit information orally or in writing at a minimum of the fifth grade reading level.
