SNC is currently seeking exceptional candidates who wish to be a part of thecommercial space revolution. Our fun, fast-paced and collaborative teamdesigns, builds, and flies the Dream Chaser Cargo System, an ambitiousflagship program to create our Nation's only commercially reusable spaceplane. We are also developing a deep space, long-duration, human habitatdesign and prototype for the NASA NextSTEP-2 program. The Space ExplorationSystems Advanced Development group is applying these technologies, as wellas SNC expertise in satellite systems, propulsion and environmental controlsystems to develop new commercial low-earth orbit and deep space systems toadvance the future of space transportation and exploration.In this role on the Advanced Development team, you will provide systemsengineering and electrical power subsystems engineering in support of theNextSTEP-2 Habitat System program and an innovative DARPA launch study. Youwill apply your knowledge of system architecture design, power subsystemdesigns, and new technologies to develop next generation space systemsincluding earth return vehicles, new launch systems, on-orbit servicingplatforms and deep space exploration systems.Experience in system architecture design and power subsystem design is highlydesired.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Develop power subsystem designs and prototype systems for Advanced Developmentprograms and proposal efforts.Support development of system architecture and concept of operations forAdvanced Development programs and proposal efforts.Lead the program efforts to interpret customer requirements and decompose theminto hardware and system requirements and specificationsOriginate specifications, control documents, verification and validationplans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of designand development activitiesWork closely with manufacturing engineering to:Ensure product manufacturability, testability and supportabilityPlan production fixtures, test procedures and test equipmentSupport the project engineer in tracking the EPPPrepare material for, and conduct periodic design reviewsExecute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customerquality, cost and schedule requirementsEnsure that all specifications, designs and developments adhere to SNCstandards and customer requirementsProvide support in the development and maintaining of configuration baselinesfor systems and sub-systemsADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Follow SNC policies, procedures and work instructions for all technicalactivitiesPunctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursOther duties as assignedCOMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, andCompliance regulations (internal and external)Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such asTime Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations, Salary Reviews,Succession Planning, etc.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ability to travel occasionallyMinimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, asdefined by managementSNC job descriptions are meant as summarizations only.
