The Microsoft Azure Performance Team is a multi-disciplinary team responsible for performance analysis and improvements for the overall Azure platform. Our ultimate goal is to improve the performance and reliability of key customer scenarios on Azure.

We develop a number of tools and services, each of which is driven by small, passionate and very agile teams. We leverage these tools, which include the Azure profiler, our competitive cloud testing service, Execution Graphs and telemetry systems to measure key scenarios and identify platform level reliability and performance problems. We then work closely with a broad set of teams across Azure to improve the design, architecture and implementation of key scenarios impacting customers and the overall business.

As the scale of Azure continues to grow and our platform becomes more complex, we need to significantly scale out the capabilities of our performance analysis service. We need to grow the set of scenarios the analysis service supports and well as scale to data volumes we expect will grow 10x over the next 2 years. Customers of this service, which include internal engineering teams as well as external Azure customers all need improved latency and deeper analysis in order to identify performance and COGS problems more quickly.

Your role will involve building deep expertise about the inner workings of the Azure platform, including its telemetry system and how core systems like VMs, networking and storage work. Using this knowledge, you will work with the rest of your team to evolve our existing analytics service to handle these new scale and scenario requirements. The team is very agile and fast paced, delivering changes to production daily. Teamwork and cooperation is key to the success of the team and project. This is a big challenge with significant visibility in the Azure organization. You will need a proven background in performance analysis and troubleshooting as well as great cross team engagement and communication skills. Requirements

6+ years of Development experience

Experience working on large scale data systems with a focus on performance analysis.

Strong problem solving and debugging skills.

Strong C# coding skills.

Experience with Web Technologies.

Experience with SQL
