Description

Field Service Engineer is a generalist in power plant business and systems, who has broad knowledge in GE product. Although the job is primarily technical, the Service Engineer must develop good commercial sense as well as planning and conducting of field

trials with sales. Provide technical expertise and assistance to respective department.

Accountabilities :

General Tasks & Responsibilities

  1. Site Execution Strategy: Based on a thorough understanding of power plant systems scope for the defined work package(s) in the contrast, implements a detailed execution plan in close collaboration with the overall site team for the execution of the site

works.

  1. Site Execution: Implementation of Site mechanical and electrical construction works package(s) according to budget, cost, schedule and quality specifications as detailed in the Project Contract.

  2. Interface: Coordinating with the overall site and Project Management Team for the different disciplines to ensure the effective management and site execution.

  3. Management of (sub-) contractors: Actively manages and ensures coordination between the various contractors to optimize the execution of site works linked to the defined work package(s). Creates team spirit by encouraging a common purpose and direction.

  4. Site Schedule: Drives the Site works according to the Project Schedule, Assist and advise customers during schedule of inspection programs.

  5. Site Organization: Defines the necessary resources for the execution of site erection works related to a specific work package(s). Organizes the Site team and ensures that the team members have clearly defined roles and responsibilities and those employees

are trained and empowered to carry out their roles.

  1. EHS: Implements the Site EHS plan and ensures EHS procedures are clearly communicated to Site team via toolbox talks and other means (Alstom employees and non-Alstom) and ensuring rigorous adherence.

  2. Documentation: Checking the completeness / accuracy all documentation linked to the defined work package(s) before it is issued to the customer. Maintenance of records relating to the progress of erection activities, quality and “as-built” design.

  3. Project Reporting: Producing appropriate progress reports including KPI tracking to support management decision making. Providing clear concise inspection reports designed to give customer maximum benefit of inspection program. Comprehensive and timely communications

on the project / inspection status to the Project Management. This includes the early identification of issues that may impinge on the successful execution of the project.

  1. Risks and Opportunities: Responsible to give overview of managing the risks and opportunities of the inspection due consideration to the schedule, quality and cost that may needed by customer as well as internally Alstom department concerned.

  2. Performance Management Process: Coordinate operational performance test to determine the nature and scope of operating problems or malfunctions. Providing regular feedback and development opportunities to employees.

  3. Knowledge Capture: Actively participating at Gate Reviews and in the production of the project closeout report to support the return of experience.

  4. Ascertains safe working condition, health and environment in the work and reports condition of danger at supervisor.

  5. Obeys all related regulations of EHS in job activity area.
