UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) is one of the world's largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products. ISR and Space Systems is a business unit within UTAS and our products reside in deep space, low earth orbit, undersea and on the ground. We are also a major supplier to international space programs. The ISR and Space Systems business has contributed to significant advances in ground, air, space and imaging technology for over 85 years. Within ISR and Space Systems we design and manufacture Environmental Control and Life Support Systems on the International Space Station, including the space suit, and undersea in submarines.

The ideal Project Engineering intern will be responsible for supporting product development activities activities associated with installation, design, development, qualification testing, or field support of components for both manned and unmanned space hardware. This is an individual contributor level position with responsibilities that will include:

  • Assigned to small projects or discreet tasks within the Project Engineering function

  • Needs to understand mechanical engineering fundamentals

  • Still developing the fundamentals of the discipline

  • Taking day to day direction from project engineering colleagues and engineering managers


Minimum GPA, 3.0+, Completion of 30 credit hours. Mechanical aptitude and interest in how mechanical and electrical mechanical hardware is designed, fabricated and tested. Interest in learning how to lead technical teams.
