Up to 30% of international and local travel.
Lead all new tooling qualifications; establish molding process parameters using varying statistical techniques (DOE, SPC, etc).
Lead process improvement initiatives for the molding team such as cycle time reduction, material conversion, statistical capability improvements, etc.
Lead implementation of standardized molding process limits by use of data analysis to improve control and elimination of defective product within Bosch product streams.
Lead implementation of a standardized process for polymer characterization at manufacturing floor environment.
Lead Six Sigma teams for root cause determination of part defect elimination or cost saving initiatives.
Identifies requirements, establishes specifications, and recommends purchase of primary and secondary plastics processing machinery and equipment.
Reviews and critiques submitted mold vendor design proposals and assures functional mold performance including Moldflow analysis and part design validation.
Performs injection molding capacity, downtime, and utilization studies and determines overall equipment effectiveness.
- 4+ years of Plastic Process Engineer experience
- Bachelor's degree in Plastics (PE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME)
Knowledge to utilize Personal Computer (PC) software including all Microsoft Office applications.
Aptitude to learn or utilize CAD software such as Autocad, Solidworks, Sigmasoft, etc.
Certified RJG Master Molder with demonstrated ability to implement improvement activities based on data.
Certified Six Sigma Black or Green Belt with expertise in Minitab applications, preferred.
Experience with large tonnage molding machines (400-1200 tons), preferred.
Experience with automation/robotics, preferred.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing improvement, preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills while working/leading in a team environment.
