Cisco has an exciting Security Systems Engineer role focused on proof of value (POV) hardware staging for the demo loan program in our Global Security Sales Organization. You will be a highly motivated, entrepreneurial-minded professional who has a passion for delivering world-class technology that protect our customers from the network to the endpoint. As part of your DNA, you are an aggressive, self-starter, and detail oriented.

What You'll Do

Every new security hardware POV request will be assigned to a POV stager to physically stage gear with correct version, apply template configs, and validate hardware components prior to shipment. The goal is to make the hardware as plug and play for the customer as possible so the customer has a great first experience and can begin using the solution without a lot of configuration once the hardware is received.

Responsible for staging all of the following security hardware:


· ASA w/Firepower



· Threatgrid

· Stealthwatch

· UCS loaded with ESX and virtual appliances

The stager will build a validation checklist, listing all components needing validation and a guide on how to validate (with help by senior team members). The stager will sign off on the checklist that all hardware is in working order and software verification to match requirements before shipping

Who You Will Work With

In this role as POV hardware stager, you will provide guidance and assist account teams with in the territory in building solutions to address specific customer security needs. In this position you will be working with technology experts to help them position Cisco's security solutions effectively against competing offerings.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 2+ years of technical experience configuring hardware appliances such as network gear, IDS/IPS, AV, Firewall, Advanced Malware Protection technologies and/or Email Security appliances.

  • BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent highly preferred

  • Proven track record on high value IT security projects

  • Experience of administering Unix/Linux systems, low-layer (packet-level) IP networking and have a understanding of network security

  • Highly motivated self-starter that does not need day-to-day management with clear communication skills written and verbal.

  • Travel: 10%
