Basic Purpose With minimal direction, perform laboratory procedures in an accurate and timely manner and continue to expand skill base. Principal Accountabilities•With minimum direction, assist in basic laboratory tasks (i.e. laboratory housekeeping/maintenance, prepare or pre-treat samples, distribute and track samples, carry out organic extractions using EPA methods and procedures and/or perform minor analytical tests using proper analytical methods and minor laboratory instrumentation).•Perform all applicable corporate and laboratory quality control procedures and policies.•Develop, maintain, provide input and revise SOPs for work area.•Prepare all records (electronic data, notebooks, chain of custody forms and instrument books) in a timely, thorough, and neat manner.•Meet turnaround time commitments.•Use the laboratory information systems and sample tracking procedures, as applicable.•Participate in methods development as assigned and suggest, test, document, and implement process improvements and train new staff as needed.•Participate in GLP training/studies as needed.•Adhere to the safety and health policies and procedures.•Perform other duties as requested. QualificationsRequired Qualifications:•Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with lab experience OR Bachelor's degree in a physical science with a minimum of one year Exposure Lab experience OR Associate degree with a minimum of two years Exposure Lab experience.•Experience with wet and instrumental techniques.•Familiarity with general laboratory instrumentation and procedures.•Good written and verbal communication skills.•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.Preferred Qualifications:•Knowledge of laboratory QA/QC plans and procedures.•Two (2) years of related work experience.
