Overview of Job Function:

The Principal Software Developer takes a leading role in software development and will be responsible for architecture, design and development of all web applications. The successful candidate has a solid working knowledge of commonly used development concepts, practices and procedures. In addition, the Principal Software Developer serves as a subject matter expert while also providing guidance to team members. The position reports to a manager or a senior manager.This will be a remote based role.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive the technical architecture, design and development of web applications working closely in concert with rest of the team.

  • Drive continuous integration, automated testing and delivery of web applications.

  • Effectively communicate designs & architectures at levels appropriate for different target audiences.

  • Maintain a forward thinking approach with an awareness of new web and software technologies.

  • Ensure that team adheres to the design and specifications outlined in the architectural vision and more importantly the product goals.

  • Researches and investigates new technologies for product improvement.

  • Ensures the overall quality and completeness of the product development deliverables.

  • Uses metrics for continuous process improvement in software development and its associated deliverables.

  • Communicates effectively with geographically distributed team members.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related Engineering or Technology degree program;

  • 8+ years of experience in software design and architecture using HTML, CSS, Javascript, AngularJS, ReactJS, and other modern web development frameworks.

  • Experience with Javascript application testing using Mocha, Expect, Sinon, and Enzyme.

  • Experience integrating with server-side applications using REST APIs.

  • Successful completion of Verint's background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, and SS verification; and successful completion of credit check for travel related roles.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

  • Works well with minimal supervision and willingness and ability to take action independently.

  • Advanced administration and troubleshooting skills with respect to process, technology, software builds, and software releases.

  • Proven organizational skills, time management skills, and project leadership skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks across team boundaries and/or for geographically dispersed teams.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Experience with large-scale software development projects is a plus.

  • Ability to communicate and explain technical concepts to a broad audience, which may include individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge and with different business perspectives.

  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, perform root cause analysis and solve problems

  • Possesses a degree of creativity and the ability to plan and control own work while able to multi-task.
