Conversational AI is at the heart of understanding you, your social interactions, your workplace and your customers, to add intelligence and do more with everything you say, type, and input. Our goal in the Conversation AI Platform team is to provide tools and services for customers to create solutions, leveraging AI tools, language understanding, speech, data, analytics, both in the cloud and on the edge.

Responsibilities

The Conversational AI team is looking for a senior Development Manager with experience creating tools for developers to build assistants, bots and conversational AI.

You will be experienced in all aspects of at-scale cloud computing including:

  • Developer tooling and overall platform design

  • Software development and the operation of worldwide services

  • Working with customers to continually reduce friction and increase both the breadth and depth of our overall offerings

  • Driving the relationships that build and deploy high quality, commercially available applications running on Azure, and integrations with those applications across Microsoft's portfolio of 1st and 3rd party products

  • Managing a high performance agile team

  • Subject matter leadership in at least one of the following: Development tools, APIs, AI, Language Understanding, Open Source, Machine Learning, Speech

Today our customers include Open Source and Microsoft Developers, external companies, and internal partners such as Office, Cortana, Bing, Skype, Teams, and many others. We work collaboratively across the company to design, build, deploy, operate and run the Bot Framework services. This includes open-source projects, cloud services, AI Resources, and analytics suites keeping our customers connected to their customers. In this role you will work with customers, partners, developers, architects, PMs and designers on a daily basis. You will develop customer engagement plans, product validation criteria, and actively participate in helping our customers ideate and build bots.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging trends

  • 10 years experience in the technology industry (Partner Development, Business Development, Product Management, Sales, Engineering, etc.)

  • This individual will need to demonstrate success in developing growth strategies and transforming them into execution

  • Exceptional leadership and community building skills

  • Exceptional decision-making, conflict resolution, negotiation skills, and follow through

  • Results driven; strong analytical skills with exceptional verbal and written communication

  • Live near the Microsoft Corporate Offices in Redmond, WA

  • Proven record of growing new businesses and building technical relationships with senior executives

  • Specific experience in product, business development and/or partner development in Conversation AI Tools

  • MS/MA degree in Technology or Business or equivalent experience

  • Experience building developer tools, runtime systems, conversational and social software tools, and demonstrated ability to deliver and scale V1 product.

  • Experience with Git Hub, Azure, Cloud OS, as well as Facebook, Slack and other social and conversational AI APIs and developer community and tools.

  • This role requires someone who can quickly step into a highly technical and collaborative area, and help design the user experience, and an API/Tools Layer that makes it seamless and simple for users.
