Installation, service and repair of all HVAC equipment.
Assist in training of entry level team members.
Able to carry out assignments with minimum supervision.
Understand and follow all safety procedures.
Operate and maintain all facility utility systems including steam, condensate, compressed air and cooling water equipment.
Maintain service and repair roof top and indoor HVAC equipment.
Operate facility steam boilers and perform routine testing and inspections including but not limited to water sampling, boiler blow downs, etc.…
Operate facility air compressors and associated equipment to supply dry, oil free air to the facility.
Perform breakdown and routine maintenance on utility system equipment such as boilers, air compressors, air dryers, condensate pumps, feed water pumps, chillers etc.…
Have general knowledge of boiler room/facilities equipment such as boilers, pumps, de-aerator, control room, air compressors, chiller, dryers, pneumatic controls, valves & HVAC.
Monitor water treatment plant operations daily.
Monitor and operate condensate return system to ensure efficient operation.
Lubricate utility equipment.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Report any findings out of the ordinary to Utility Department Supervisor
Perform miscellaneous facility support activities as defined by the Utility Department Supervisor.
Continuously monitor and obtain utility meter readings daily.
Read & interpret documentation such as drawings, manuals and technical bulletins.
Use electrical tester to safely check power, fuses, breakers and switches.
Operate a forklift, scissor lift and jenny boom.
Plan and organize individual work.
Install service and repair all equipment in a timely manner.
Have and maintain proper hand tools.
Maintain good housekeeping throughout plant and shop.
Mechanics are expected to work in a team environment, on 8 hour shifts plus OT & weekends/ holidays.
High school diploma/GED or minimum of 2 years work experience at Haywood Company
Candidates must have 2 years’ experience as an HVAC mechanic in an industrial environment and must be certified as a Universal Technician as required by 40 CFR part 82 subpart F.
Candidate should have 2 years general mechanical maintenance experience
Must complete the Boiler Operator qualification training in 90 days of employment
Essential Physical Requirement:
Be able to lift 50 pounds
Be able to climb and work from Ladder.
