Job Description - Charlotte, NC

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely performing and/or supervising the installation, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the building systems and equipment on 1st and 3rd shift. This position pays $20-28/hr

Hours: 12 hour shifts


  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance work.

  • Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with production, purchasing, and manufacturing engineering departments.

  • Process facility work orders as requested.

  • Proactively inspect building facilities to identify maintenance needs.

  • Develop and maintain safe maintenance practices such as fall protection, PPE, etc.

  • Maintain documentation and training of facility equipment.

  • Train employees on operation and basic service of production equipment.

  • Coordinate facility service suppliers (security, fire detection and protection, HVAC, etc).

  • Represent company during interactions with property management.

  • Maintain MRO inventories; accountable for ordering and usage of MRO stock.

  • Maintain clean and organized common facility areas as well as maintenance/repair areas.

Working hours: 10am - 8:30 pm



  • High School Degree or equivalent.

  • 5-7 years' experience in building/facility maintenance.

  • Good understanding of building code regulations.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and procedures such as lockout tag-out.

  • Experience working safely with hand and power tools.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and/or scissor lift.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook to manage maintenance requests.

  • Must be a team player with ability to handle multiple tasks and follow-up on requests.

  • Excellent root cause analysis and problem solving ability.

  • Good interpersonal, writing, speaking, and coordinating skills.

  • Schedule flexibility and willingness to work overtime when required.

  • Must be able to perform well under pressure.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to operate a computer and calculator, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
