The Permit Coordination team is responsible for reviewing all preplanned work for needed permits, applying for permits, detailed permit tracking, bond recovery, among many other functions that support the goals and objectives of Geospatial Gas Asset Management (GGAM).Job ResponsibilitiesThe Permit Coordinator supports the Distribution, Operations, Engineering and Transmission (DOET) strategy of being the Customers' Trusted Energy Partner through building relationships and trust with our local municipality and owner-agency customers. The Permit Coordinator is a critical role and will be the accountable individual for permit relationships, acquisition, interpretation and execution for all gas distribution work across our franchise territory. The permit Coordinator must be able to review, edit, develop, manage and interpret documents and drawings utilized for the purposes of maintaining, constructing, and removing facilities of the gas distribution system. The Permit Coordinator will need the ability to read and interpret gas distribution design prints, negotiate with permitting agencies, and insert themselves in the feedback loop for Operations and for Scheduling to be able to make notifications of work starting and completing. The Permit Coordinator consults with supervisors, operators, engineers, technicians, and subject matter experts to review assigned area needs, discuss problems, prioritize work, and provide technical expertise.The position will function as the single point of contact for gas permitting in their assigned area. This will include the following responsibilities:•Review designs to determine if necessary permitting requirements have been identified by the designer•Monitor and utilize SAP tasks for each permit•Answer designer questions on how to fill out what permits, which permits are needed•Submit completed permit applications to the permit agencies, including all right of way, soil erosion, MDOT, and county drain permits, as well as others required by local agencies.•Complete check requests/bond requests invoicing for jobs that have fees come in after the fact, including calculation of permit fees•Interpret technical design changes required by cities/municipalities•Negotiate with municipalities to limit the number of design change requirements and maintain documentation for reference•Notifies city/state/township of construction dates•Start notices•Completion notices•Database construction and management for:•Permit Tracking - ensure understanding of all permits applied for / received•Bond Tracking - ensure understanding of all bonds outstanding / ensure we get refunded•Communicate with Restoration department on clean-up schedule•Communicate with Scheduling on construction scheduleGoals•Build relationship of trust with permit agencies•Track an
