Responsible for monitoring company safety programs, policies and compliance with federal, state and local safety codes and regulations.Key Accountabilities:* Identifies and resolves basic safety issues.* Utilizes computer systems and spreadsheets to analyze and monitor and track safety systems.* Identifies substandard conditions and communicate findings.* Uses fact base analysis to identify root causes of safety and industrial hygiene problems or incidents.* Develops recommendations and monitors implementations.* Analyzes data and provides comprehensive reports.* Evaluates business unit processes and makes recommendations.* Functions as part of a team on a business strategy.* Interacts effectively with line management, employees, union personnel, professional staff and regulatory inspectors and build relationships.* Engages suppliers and contractor services in supporting company safety initiatives and generating cost avoidance/savings strategies.* Communicates across functional lines and business units to share concepts and implementation strategies.* Plans, organizes and prioritizes issues impacting the business unit.Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences or related fields.* Minimum of 5 years of safety and health experience in the utility industry or heavy manufacturing.* Experiences or training in the analysis of regulatory and legislative standards and policies.* Basic knowledge of Federal, State Local safety, health medical standards.* Basic knowledge of engineering concepts to control safety health hazards.* Basic knowledge of safety management systems and their interaction with corporate business systems.* Basic knowledge of chemical and physical hazards and the toxicological implications on human health.* Basic knowledge on human factors engineering and their application to safety processes.* Basic knowledge of organizational learning and the ability to deliver training programs to address organizational needs.* Basic knowledge of safety equipment, safety devices, control technologies.* Ability to modify written procedures and programs to meet
