Charter Communications/Spectrum System Performance Engineer Telephony in Greenwood Village, Colorado

JOB SCOPE:The System Performance Engineer will be responsible for development,design, of Voice PSTN monitoring tools and performance metrics collection,reports, dashboards, alert development.Candidate works collaboratively with Voice Advanced Engineering and Operationsteams.Engineer will assist with design direction and implementation of largeenterprise-wide network Voice services monitoring platforms Empirix andNetscout. Develop Key Performance Indicators and integrate into metrics.Candidate will be responsible for support of servers, OS, Database, APIdevelopment and tools integration across the Charter Voice network.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ensure all critical Voice elements monitored and KPIs are measured * Assist with development of processes to improve Voice Service deliveryperformance * Create detailed documentation for deployments and augmentations. * Review new development tools, application frameworks and testingtools for functionality / effectiveness * Provide 'on call' support to resolve issues after normal businesshoursUse established change management processes, requiring operationalprocedures be performed with minimal customer impact * Monitors and assists in managing applications, device availability,network conditions and status, system reliability and performance, serviceand program maintenance and storage resources * Perform other duties as requested by supervisorBASIC/ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, orequivalent experience * 3 years of PSTN infrastructure experience * 3 years of Network OSS application work experienceADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicatewith employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, andby written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professionalmanner * Advanced knowledge Voice PSTN infrastructure and systems engineeringconcepts * Advanced ability to conduct design sessions to specify solution designsfor feasibility, cost, and functionality create detailed documentation,as well as follow and implement established change control policies andprocedures troubleshoot application problems * Strong ability to transform an operational need into a description ofsystem parameters and incorporate those parameters in the control of the totalsystem development to achieve an optimum, cost-effective balance of allsystem elements * Hands on experience with analytic tools, (Empirix E-XMS,IntelliSight, OneSight, NetScout nGenius, NetCool, Gigamon,Wireshark, HP NA, ePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * 3 years of Tools System Administration work experience * 3 years of Database support and development work experience * 3 years of Enterprise Application Integration work experience. * Experience with scripting languages, Python, Shell, PHP, MySQL, etc. * Automation experience design and development of tools used toautomate manual processes and streamline manual tasks * Experience developing KPIs, SLAs to improve network, applicationperformance * as well as working collaboratively with a highly technical Voice team * CCNA/CCNP or equivalent, SIP, SS7, SIGTRAN or equivalentThe Spectrum brand is powered and innovated by Charter Communications.Charter Communications reaffirms its commitment to providing equalopportunities for employment and advancement to qualified employees andapplicants.
