Performs general operations necessary for department manufacturing. Must be versatile in order to perform various functions within a multi-step batch manufacturing process. Must have the ability to run various types of equipment, utilize a variety of hand and power tools, use sound judgment in making decisions and be capable of monitoring critical operations. Responsible for recognizing, correcting when possible, and reporting all operational variations. Performs periodic quality control analyses as required to complete in-process production. May perform equipment maintenance.
Operates various braiding machines including: lattice, square, round and inverted braiders.
Sets-up the above mentioned equipment according to the appropriate process specification by adhering to work instructions.
Winds various yarns onto bobbins, using various winding machines for set-up onto braiders.
Operates yarn pre-lubrication system including pre-lube oven and take-up machine. This includes set-up according to established procedures and weekly cleaning.
Mixes core materials for processing in an extruder. This requires weighing and operation of a stationary mixer.
Operates extruder. Operates spooling machine for winding finished goods onto spools.
Packages and labels spools of finished goods using bar code system.
Mixes proper quantities of ingredients to create silicone based post lubricant, other post lubricants and slurry mixes. This requires weighing and operation of a portable mixer.
Operates various fork trucks and lifting equipment. Must be trained and licensed.
Operates twisters, squaring presses, knitters and cutting equipment.
May operate a sharp packing knife while performing above mentioned job duties.
Operates computer to execute order inquiries, cycle count adjustments, and other routing transactions.
Complexity of Duties:
Works under minimal supervision.
Ability to make decisions based on a set of predetermined parameters.
Ability to work according to written/verbal and/or graphic instructions/procedures which will ensure safety on the job and efficient, effective production processes.

Ability to operate machines such as a braider, twister, forklift, etc.
Ability to read, comprehend and follow written/verbal instructions and sequences of events.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. manually on a frequent basis, uses supporting equipment when necessary.
Manual dexterity to handle small sharp and/or specialized tools.
Ability to mix and measure product.
Education and/or Experience:
High school or trade school preferred.
6 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Basic reading, writing, comprehension and math skills.
Manual dexterity and the ability to work in a tight confined space.
Ability to operate a computer.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to perform more than one function at a time
