Job Description

his position shall form part of the planned Joint Venture between Osram and Continental which is supposed to be a standalone company with equal shares from both partners operating with a global set-up.

Both companies are planning a strategic cooperation in order to combine the strengths of both companies: our competence in the area of innovative lighting control electronics and Osram’s extraordinary know-how in lighting solutions.

On Day 1 of the planned joint venture “Osram Continental GmbH” strives to have about 1,500 employees in 17 locations and 9 countries worldwide with its headquarter in the Munich area.

Day 1 and start of operations including employee transfer into the JV would be after successful conclusion of negotiations and after regulatory approval of the deal by the appropriate regulatory authorities has been granted

Overview

Coordinate, guide and develop efectively a Software Engineering team by establishing strategies, effective planning and resource management

The Software Group Leader is responsible for:

Headcount administration, investments and group expenses for the Annual business plan and monthly follow up.

Check and authorize Project hours. To ensure the appropriate group workload. Promote the work life within the employees to have a work ­ life balance.

Search and investigate the adequate tools to have the Engineers do their work.

Ensure an appropriate flow of information within the group and with other areas.

Coordinate the necessary actions to prepare Customers quotations.

Ensure the employees under his/her responsibility have the tools defined by the BU and lo location.

Plan and evaluate the performance of its collaborators in a regular way and in accordance to the defined process.

Plan, coordinate and ensure the training and development of its collaborators in accordance to the aligned position competencies and career plan.

Ensure the position induction and welcoming for the new collaborators.

Define, monitor and evaluate its team goals.

Ensure that the individual goals are aligned to the needs of the BU and the R&D Guadalara Center.

Define along with the collaborators their Career Plan and follow up.

Participate in the employee selection process.

Participate on the local strategies for its discipline in coordination with other Group Leaders

Define working teams for projects based on the capabilities of each of its collaborators.

Constantly search for the continues improvement of processes and procedures by creating new ones or modifying the current processes; ensures the follow up of the processes.

Follow the guide of Leadership established by the organization and propose new and better practices.

Promote the Innovation model defined by the organization.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering

Minimum of 4 years of experience working in the automotive industry in the Area of Embedded Systems

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a leader and manager of a technical organization involving multiple locations

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of Software Development

Preferred Qualifications

Customer Interface Experience

Resource Planning Experience

Strong presentation and communication skills

Strong knowledge of state­of­ the­art Software engineering practices/technology trends (Agile Methods, AUTOSAR, ASPICE,

ISO26262, Cybersecurity)

Project Management Experience (2 years)
