Role Summary:

The Software Engineer position is a key SW development role within General Imaging (GI) Ultrasound with responsibilities extending to the development of system software and applications within the GI Ultrasound business. You will develop Software solutions for the next generation products using the latest Software development methodologies & tools.

Essential Responsibilities:

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Work closely with cross-functional teams in requirements gathering and software design

• Interacting with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms

• Managing design evolution across multi-generation product releases

• Leveraging technical and clinical depth to work on business initiatives aimed at innovation and quality excellence

• Developing subsystem designs and applying in-depth knowledge of product related technologies, technology platforms, architectures, engineering design principles and advancements

Quality Specific Goals:

  1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  4. Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables

  5. Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible



  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related computer field

  2. 5+ year experience in software development

  3. Software development cycle and automated testing experience

  4. Experience software development on Windows platform

  5. Experience in object oriented design methodology and various programming languages, including C/C+6. Working knowledge in configuration management tools such as Perforce, GIT, ClearCase, etc…

Desired Characteristics:

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in software platform, advanced applications, user-interface design and/or systems engineering especially in the healthcare domain.

  2. Knowledge of working with firmware, image processing, signal processing or device drivers.

  3. Good skills in knowing how to debug software issues.

  4. Knowledge of IEC 62304 (SDLC)

  5. Good skill for communication in fluent English
