Description of Responsibilities:

  • Within budgeted or estimated time, repair, modify, install, and perform routine and non-routine maintenance of all Avionics systems with a high degree of proficiency and with minimal assistance.

  • Accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders and other documents from both the customer to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement or modification.

  • Using detailed knowledge of the aircraft systems and their operation, apply deductive concepts to troubleshoot and isolate defective components.

  • Assist leads with planning, productions, and quality assurance of assigned projects. Assist with the training and development of Technicians.

  • Properly utilize Avionics test equipment to perform systems test and keep abreast of new and advanced test equipment and the use of such equipment.

  • Properly utilize and maintain Avionics hand tools to perform repairs and installations.

  • Keep leadership and co-workers apprised of work progress and/or problems.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

  • Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

  • Operate ground support equipment e.g. power carts, Hi-Reach, etc. as required.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Additional Duties:

Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that you are provided with full information on your area specific safety issues, all unique hazards are identified, and you are provided with the proper equipment to carry out your job in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported to your supervisor or manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent

  • 5 years of experience

Required Skills:

  • Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

  • Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.

  • Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires up to 40% travel. Most travel is outside the local area and overnight. Some of the travel is international.

Work Environment:

This work performed for this position will be performed in a manufacturing and aircraft hangar environment. The noise level in this work environment is usually high. May work near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

  • Commonly exposed to mobile mechanical parts and fumes

  • Handling and disposing of toxic materials in accordance with company procedures

  • Occasionally, working in dangerous places with risks of electric shocks

  • Exposed to high levels of noise

While working, you will be expected to promote and effectively utilize company assets. You will have to ensure a safe working area exists everywhere around you. You will need to maintain a clean, damage-free work environment.
