Job Overview

Qualcomm is looking for Windows / VMware ESXi Administrator with exposure to:

  • Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 & 2016 Operating Systems Experience

  • Virtualization technologies like VMWare, Hyper-V & AHV

  • Managing VMware Horizon view 6.x,7.x would be beneficial

  • Administration of physical and virtual infrastructure hosts in complex heterogeneous environments

  • Storage technologies, SAN and RAID concepts.

  • Datacenter Operations

  • Windows Clustering and troubleshooting

  • Investigation, diagnosis and resolution of technical issues affecting service availability.

  • VMware ESX/vSphere 5.x and 6.x

  • Troubleshoot VMware-ESX related incidents

  • Install, upgrade and maintain ESX host servers

  • VSAN, vCenter & ESXi Upgrades.

  • VRA, VROPS & VRO.

  • Nutanix, Dell, HP & Cisco (UCS) Enclosures/Blade hardware platform is a plus.

  • Cloud based technologies with administration of either Azure/AWS would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Act as Escalation point for engineers for technical and process related issues

  • Partnering with different representatives across the company

  • After-hours escalations relating to critical business activities

  • Automation of mundane or routine tasks with some of the commonly used scripting framework such as PowerShell, Python and Perl.

  • Knowledge transfer among multiple team members and sharing of service responsibilities

  • Relevant certifications (ITIL, MCSE-Server, VCP etc..) will be a strong plus.Responsibilities of Role involve:

  • Management of Global Windows and Virtual Compute (VMware ESXi) Infrastructure servers

  • Incident management, ticket management tools.

  • Being a team player.

  • Manage/handle Sev 1 tickets on priority.

  • Operational support (Shifts) 24/7 IT services.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 4+ years IT-relevant work experience OR 6+ years IT-relevant work experience without a bachelors degree.
