Iowa Employer Senior Measurement Engineer/Specialist in ., Iowa
This is a multi-level posting. Candidates may be considered for any of the posted levels, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise. This position can be filled in Johnston, Ogden or Waterloo, Iowa. The senior measurement engineer provides highly technical engineering services and supports the work of others specifically related to measurement activities.Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide technical engineering advice, programs and training to measurement specialists, field operations measurement personnel and engineering and drafting personnel in measurement systems, design and technology.Develop and participate in the development of measurement standards, operating procedures, and technical programs in the measurement area that is compatible with company, operational, governmental and safety requirements. Assist in the implementation, and revision of established measurement standards and procedures and programs.Conduct periodic measurement related reviews/audits to assure program, procedure and code compliance. Make recommendations and coordinate activities to resolve deficiencies or other measurement problems.Provide engineering/technical guidance and training to appropriate engineering and regional personnel in areas of measurement equipment and technology.Act as a consultant for director of measurement and facility planning, manager of measurement field services, measurement specialists, engineering personnel, and regional operations personnel for measurement design, and identify and resolve measurement problems, or make complex modifications or repairs to measurement facilities.Develop or coordinate the development and implementation of special projects related to measurement. Monitor and report on status of projects and associated funds. Assist as needed in establishment of contract agreements and coordination of contractors for measurement projects as assigned.Provide technical leadership regarding unaccounted for gas and prior period adjustments. Assist in assigned UAF projects and determining volume adjustments based on failures or missing measurement data.Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning and proposals.Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.Five years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, and must be a licensed PE.
