Parker's Hose Products Division is a manufacturer of hydraulic hoses, fittings, accessories and equipment. We have the largest selection of hydraulic hose, pneumatic hose, and more fitting sizes and configurations than any other manufacturer. Our Mason, MI team is looking for a Maintenance Technician team member on 2nd shift. We are a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION (General): Perform electrical, communication, and controls maintenance of all plant machines and equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical maintenance of all plant machines and equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Perform a wide range of general building and equipment maintenance, such as plumbing, general electrical, carpentry, sheet metal and fabrication design, and sheet metal repair work. • Must be able to weld and use metal cutting equipment. • Working knowledge of a full array of industrial electronics and controls including but not limited to: relay logic and controls, automation interlocking, machine control circuits, sensors, switches, timers, wiring and ladder diagrams, sequencers, variable speed motor drives, servo controls, etc. • Ability to troubleshoot, program and communicate with PLC, robotic, HMI, and electrical systems in facility. • Safe working knowledge and skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and a safe working knowledge of all electrical equipment and systems up to 480 volts 3 phase industrial plant electrical wiring and code requirements. • Move, setup and level machines. Install guards and see that machines are lubricated and properly operational. • Coordinate and/or perform equipment preventative maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical malfunctions/breakdowns, recommend and initiate proper activity to repair. • Disassemble, repair and rebuild electrical control units, mechanical units, mechanisms and machines. • Utilize maintenance equipment (including but not limited to: saws, grinders, CNC mills and lathes, etc.) to perform machining duties as needed. Maintain cleanliness of department floors and machinery. • Communicate with and utilize outside services and support as necessary to troubleshoot problems, provide project and maintenance assistance and offer technical resources. • Support, assist and train other maintenance personnel as directed by department supervisor.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: • Follow all department policies and procedures and performs all tasks as assigned by supervisor. • Support and adhere to all applicable OSHA regulations and requirements. • Qualify for a forklift driver's license and qualify for a sky jack operator's license. • Perform a wide range of general building and equipment maintenance, such as plumbing, general electrical, carpentry, sheet metal and fabrication design, and sheet metal repair work. • Must be able to design and fabricate machine guarding, work tables/benches, jigs, and similar devises for use within manufacturing facility. o Must be able to weld and use metal cutting equipment proficiently. o Able to take a concept from a print, photograph, or visualization and constructing a prototype or physical assembly.
PHYSICAL, VISUAL, AND HEARING ABILITY: • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. • Ability to lift 50 pounds, exert 25-45 pounds of linear force occasionally, and/or exert 10-25 lbs. of force frequently to move objects. • Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine manuals, gages, prints and precision measuring instruments. • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS (employee is subject to): • Welding and/or cutting tools flash, fumes dust and mist. • High noise level from operating machines. • Physical and electrical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. • Skin exposure to oils, cutting fluids, and cleaning chemicals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent • State Indentured Apprenticeship, Associates, or technical school + experience related to maintenance preferred • Have experience with mechanical and electrical repairs with the following: Fanuc Robotics, AB Controls/HMI, Seimens Controls/HMI, Device Net, and RS Logic • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating, and maintenance manuals
