BDO Junior CPM Software Consultant (CPA students or Accounting / FP&A background preferred) in Mississauga, Ontario

Position Description:

BDO Canada LLP is in the process of recruiting a Junior CPM Software Consultant, and is seeking candidates with previous experience in an FP&A or accounting role who are interested in moving into a software consulting position. Previous software consulting or CPM experience is not required.

This individual will work with our team of CPM & Business Analytics professionals to develop, train, support CPM solutions at various client sites throughout Ontario and nationally. Occasional travel to the United States, Eastern and Western Canada and other countries may also be required.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Train BDO Solutions clients

  • Analyze client business requirements and objectives

  • Implement and support the following CPM solutions: Adaptive Insights and Prophix

  • Provide pre-sales support, including the full proof of concept process

  • Provide client support and consultation regarding issues with configurations and implementations

  • Prepare documents and report implementation status to project manager

  • Work closely with team of CPM and Business Analytics professionals as required

  • Be a key contributor to take our CPM practice to the next level

    Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Hold or working towards an Accounting Designation (CPA) or university degree/college diploma in accounting or business with equivalent work experience. Experience in an FP&A or accounting role preferred.

  • The successful candidate should also be an experienced Microsoft Office applications user

  • Have excellent communication and interpretive skills. Communicating with clients and interpreting their needs will be a daily activity.

  • Comfortable working and interacting with senior level executives including CFOs, VPs and finance staff

  • Be a committed team player. The success on each project depends on the combined efforts of the implementation team.

  • Be well organized and able to work well under pressure both from clients and from team members. Established deadlines must be met on all engagements.

  • Be flexible and adaptable to change. We implement change for diverse clients on a daily basis.

  • Be self-motivated. Learning new skills without prompting is expected.

  • Be willing to travel up to 25% out of province to the US and other countries.

Nice-to-Have Skills (not required):

  • Experience implementing and supporting end users with Adaptive Insights and Prophix, or other CPM solutions

  • Working knowledge of SQL scripting

  • Working knowledge of Pentaho and/or cloud based integration tools

  • Experience with FRx or Management Reporter

  • Face-to-face consultation experience
