We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer Lead to join our EES team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineering Lead will be part of the development team focused on developing the next generation of our Electric Vehicle Support Equipment and Power Cycling and Test Systems. This individual will be responsible for end-to-end development production design of power cycling product, from Concept development through support of production release. Work collaboratively within a team structure to maximize design leverage across a family of products. Apply mechanical and commercial expertise to design efforts in conceptualization, modeling, DFx, detailed design and release, and manufacturing support. Mentor and lead a team of mechanical engineers and designers. Work to ensure full mechanical team utilizes best practices in mechanical and electro-mechanical design and work directly with manufacturing engineers and tooling partners to optimize design and manufactured part needs.
Required Qualifications & Background
Proficient in SolidWorks.
Proficiency designing electro-mechanical components and assemblies in SolidWorks
Proven experience in creating engineering drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing Practices, Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and other applicable ASME Y14 series standards.
Experience creating the following types of drawings: machined parts drawings, plastic injection molded part drawings, sheet metal fabrication drawings, source control drawings, specification control drawings, wire assembly drawings, and mechanical assembly drawings.
Experience in the creation and release of Engineering Change Orders.
Familiarity with UL standards and design requirements a plus.
Good interpersonal skills and able to work well with others across disciplines
Good presentation skills for internal reviews
Contributes to meeting project cost and schedule
Able to make design decisions to meet stated requirements
Knowledge of appropriate design and simulation tools and validation techniques
