Job Summary & Essential Functions: The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position.
-The individual is responsible for supporting all manufacturing processes in the plant.
-Lays out, fabricates, assembles, and tests aerospace parts, assemblies, and mechanisms to assist engineers in the development of products/parts for new programs or development opportunities.
-Create and develop the manufacturing methods and tooling used to build new parts utilizing composites.
-Provide information to Engineering regarding how the composite process works to develop standard work instructions.
-Establish a repeatable process to to pass the first article inspection and enter into production. Training of the Manufacturing Techs to ensure the proper production methods / techniques are followed.
-Develop standardized work instructions, implement SS, balance lines and assist to create process flow and linkage
-Lays out, fabricates, assembles, and tests aerospace parts, assemblies, and mechanisms to be tested, according to blueprints, specifications, sketches, templates, or verbal instructions
-Fabricates and assembles test equipment, tooling, shop aids, or other devices for experimental test projects
Interfaces with engineers, laboratories, and program team to coordinate job tasks and report progress
-Documents standard work and refines processes as they move from developmental to production ready
-Tracking and documenting project activities, taking notes and setting estimated completion dates of activities, consults and seeks clarification to get the job done correctly, accountable for tracking of all materials and data associated with project, and offers suggestions and improvements to the processes
-Active participation in the design team, generating ideas for process improvement Coordination of activities and technical guidance to inspection staff, including work schedule and priorities Requisition of materials, and equipment; maintain inventory and records of materials and supplies used
Skills & Qualifications
Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.
-Minimum five (5) years experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
-High School diploma required; College courses in Chemistry or Material Science, preferred

·Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and best-practices required
-Mechanical aptitude for problem solving and ability to function in a hands on role
·Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
·The ability to communicate effectively with peers and management in both verbal and written forms
-Knowledge of composite material processing including adhesive bonding, wet resin processing and prepreg.
-Attention to detail
-Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
-Ability to understand and follow complex, multi-step instructions
·Timely follow through and sense of urgency
·Strong analytical and communication skills
·Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars
-Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel,
PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
-Background in Lean and/or Six Sigma principles including Process Mapping, SS, DMAIC,
Cellular Manufacturing, FMEA, Pull Systems and Continuous Improvement Events such as Kaizen or Six Sigma Projects is preferred
-Overtime and weekend work as needed to support manufacturing
