CMT Industrialization Group Manager/in (Job Number: MAN00001532)


We are looking for a Culture Manufacturing Technology Industrialization Group Manager/in. Based at Niebüll production site in Germany, Industrialization Team Manager/in will assume responsibility in starter cultures and probiotics area and will manage local industrialization team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Championing production safety/food safety improvement process

  • Leading continuous improvement of production processes of starter cultures and probiotics in Niebüll site

  • Providing engineering/project management support to CAPEX initiatives

  • Leading implementation of new processes/products and exploring new technology in the area of Starter Cultures (lactic acid bacteria) and probiotics production

  • Foster team engagement and people development through information sharing, skills development and promoting team contribution

  • Assign resources on projects in line with management/site/business priorities and technical manager needs

  • Managing Local Industrialization Team including of Plant Process Engineers and pilot team located in Niebüll site

  • Ensuring that the right resources, competencies, know-how and facilities are available to solve the requested topics in a satisfactory and efficient manner


Key requirements:

  • Educated in relevant field of study including but not limited to biotechnology, bio-engineering or chemical engineering. Relevant work experience, including process engineering, process development laboratory/Pilot Plant, is required.

  • pHD preferred + 3-5 years of relevant work experience

  • Masters preferred + 5-7 years relevant work experience

  • Bachelors 8-10 years of relevant work experience

  • Proven track record in management of continuous improvement, CAPEX projects, food & production safety

  • Experience in Bio-industrial fermentation production environment

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and perform in a multi-cultural international work environment

  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate with people from various organizations (plant people, R&D people, business people, application people, DuPont N&H customers, Quality Assurance etc.)

  • Strong people leadership skills and proven people management experience

  • Fluent German & English is mandatory for this position.

  • Customer driven mindset, strong ability to deliver customer oriented solutions for new products development and processes.

  • Dynamic, sense of agility, plant results oriented, team oriented, able to travel and flexible

  • Ability to learn rapidly:

  • Understand DuPont N&H industrial practices (e.g. relevant scale up parameters) to ensure developed processes are matching the productivity requirements and plant industrialization constraints

  • Understand starter formulation principles, starter product qualification methods and Innovation workflow to foster on time project deliveries

  • Understand practical considerations regarding fermentation (media, process parameters…), separation processes (centrifugation, filtration technology…) and stabilization processes (LN2 freezing, lyophilization…)

  • A working experience within a global recognized company is a strong plus.
