HNTB is currently seeking an Traffic-ITS Engineer II in our East Lansing, MI office.For more than 25 years, the HNTB Michigan offices have planned, designed, and delivered some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Michigan. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to some of the most transformational transportation projects throughout Michigan.Job SummaryAssists assigned department by performing engineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations, design and delivery on assigned project(s).Essential Responsibility•Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects.•Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.•Performs other duties as assigned.Additional Responsibilities- Collect, organize and summarize transportation data.- Developandcalibratemicro-simulation models appropriate to specific project needs, including, VISSIM, CORSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, Rodel and Sidra.- Conduct traffic analysis, including projecting and analyzing diversions, establishing and analyzing improvement concepts, and summarizing benefits and costs.- Communicate results in presentations and in writing.- Work with engineering staff to develop plans, details, and specifications for ITS, traffic signal, connected vehicle, and other transportation technology projects.Basic QualificationBachelor's degree in Engineering2 years relevant experienceEITPreferred Qualification/Skills*LI-AKGeneral Work ConditionsCombination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions.
