Job Description

Under the general direction of the Field Service Manager, the Installer & Repair Technician is responsible for installing and repairing voice and data services (phone lines, internet, TV) for residential and business customers.

Also, the incumbent is responsible to deliver first class customer service and committed to safety and quality.


  • Providing unparalleled customer service excellence

  • Installing residential and business copper and fiber voice & data services and applications. Other installation and repair functions as assigned

  • Trace and locate appropriate telecommunications links

  • Explain and discuss details regarding progress, issues, and applicable charges

  • Promote products and services when appropriate

  • Operate equipment and vehicle in a safe manner

  • Ensure vehicle and test equipment are maintained in excellent working condition

  • Troubleshoot technical issues swiftly and accurately

  • Work indoors and outdoors customer locations

  • Provide customers with information on job status

  • Responsible for Admin Task, Including: Prepare time and expense reports, with clear job in Field Link and Web Tracker, Monitoring KM for Company’s vehicle, and other duties as required

  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

  • Enhancing Organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment

  • Full provincial driver's license

  • Ability to work aloft including climbing poles

  • Ability to manage a physically demanding workload

  • Proficient in operating hand and power tools, and test equipment

  • Normal color vision to work with color-coded wiring

  • Ability to effectively handle both favorable and unfavorable customer interactions

  • Fluent in English

Working Conditions

  • Physically demanding workload

  • Work location: Work in locations that preclude the ability to return home

  • Work hours: various shifts as assigned (morning, evening, weekend, and statutory holidays)

  • Travel is required
