Lab Network Engineer to be part of the team that is responsible for supporting networking infratructure for server lab environment.
Design, configure, administer, and troubleshoot lab network environment.
Work with remote teams to insure connectivity to overseas lab locations
Assist with racking and cabling hardware; servers, switches, etc
Analyzing, troubleshooting and correcting network problems remotely and on-site.
Manage and oversee network and datacenter products, services, protocols, and standards
Implements, manages and troubleshoots existing network and system environments, and supports a variety of network equipment and other hardware.
Tracking of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
Installing, testing network components as well as the functions associated with these tasks.
Scheduling preventive maintenance and optimizing network for performance.
Contacting vendors for remedial and emergency repairs when hardware malfunctions occur.
Maintaining maintenance records on networking hardware.
Oversee/perform new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
Developing operations, administrative and quality assurance back up plans as well as Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation.
Ability to teach and mentor junior engineers to maximize potential and provide a firm foundation in network troubleshooting skills.
Maintain a working and hands-on knowledge of products in the network industry.
Helps with periodic vulnerability and security risk assessment, Penetration testing of the network assets within the organization.
Support for various Audits (SOC2, ISO27001, PCI etc)
Researches emerging network technologies and makes recommendations based on future business needs
Conducts analysis, prepares reports, and works on project implementation
Prepare Network Design documents using Microsoft Visio.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Comfortable facing customers on calls and in person to rapidly address high priority issues.
Familiarity working in ticketing tools to manage trouble tickets and meeting SLA's
Experience in netwroking technologies including Dell switches, VMWARE, TCP/IP, NAT, QoS, SNMP, ACLs, Routing, Switching etc.
Familiarity with Dell servers and Dell networking hardware
Experience in network protocol analyzers/sniffers such as Wireshark.
Experience creating detailed network documents using Microsoft Visio.
Knowledge of heterogeneous networking components along with knowledge of routing/ switching involving 100s of VLANs.
Ability to collaborate and work with support teams in various time zones
Excellent Oral and Communication skills
Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Experience in network security a plus
