AECOM’s Sacramento office is seeking a professional with experience and expertise with managing the preparation of documentation to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and/or the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This position is focused on preparation of CEQA and NEPA analyses and reporting on a wide range of topics for a diverse set of clients and project types throughout California, and potentially beyond California.
The successful candidate would become a part of a dynamic northern California environmental planning team that enjoys excellent client relationships with local, regional, and State agencies, as well as private and nonprofit organizations. Our Sacramento office has built a reputation for innovation, high-quality work, attentive client service, and a collegial office culture that fosters teamwork. AECOM’s Sacramento-based projects often combine environmental analysis and review with urban design, policy planning, engineering and design, and other related elements. This position is an important part of continuing to build our integrated environmental and urban planning practice.
This position would involve work on small-, medium-, and large-scale projects for both public- and private-sector clients. The types of projects could include work related to urban development and planning, recreation and open space planning, transportation and other infrastructure improvements, master planning, energy generation and distribution, greenhouse gas reduction, water quality, stormwater management, land conservation, flood protection, climate resilience, transit-oriented development, among other types.
Project opportunities would be expected to be in northern California, the Sierra Nevada, and the Central Valley, but may include work elsewhere in California, the U.S., or possibly international locations.
10+ years' experience
Mastery of the requirements of CEQA and NEPA and, in particular, familiarity with evolving CEQA case law
Experience with a range of project types including, but not necessarily limited to residential/commercial development, local government small area and comprehensive plans, and parks and other public facility improvements
- Specialized knowledge of topics germane to environmental analysis, such as geology/paleontology, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, mineral resources, and other topics
