AMETEK Prestolite Power is in the business of providing battery charging solutions to the material handling industry. We currently have many thousands of systems installed throughout North America and other parts of the world. Our product portfolio has numerous offerings to cover many needs including freezer, opportunity and fast charge applications.
The Intern’s specific responsibility is to assist the Engineering and Service departments with their many needs. The intern shall be an energetic individual who will work with members of the design and project teams to assist in creating/testing charging systems and components for our products.
The candidate must have a technology centric background that includes experience with electronics and some mechanical design. They should be a self-starter and be willing to get their hands dirty. The candidate must also possess strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills. Also, the ability to work closely with other team members to meet objectives and deadlines. Must possess effective computer skills; Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes.
Must be in the process of pursuing an associate level degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized, fully accredited program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Assist with testing and troubleshooting charging systems and the associated electronic circuits using power semi conductors, microprocessors, and analog circuits.
Assist with laboratory mechanical tasks including assembly and modification.
Assist with preparing sufficient documentation to implement product designs to manufacturing. This may include the development of assemblies, test procedures, Bills of Material and drawings.
Assist in general laboratory tasks.
Assist the Service department in testing customer returns and to identify trends that lead to field issues.
