We are Raytheon Missile Systems and our Advanced Systems Development Center (ASDC) in Tucson, Arizona, is seeking a Senior Systems Certification Engineer with experience developing and certifying nuclear weapons systems or components. Note: This position can be a Senior Systems Engineer I (G08) OR a Senior Systems Engineer II (G09) based upon the applicant’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, leadership, experience and responsibility requirements of the position. The Senior Certification Engineer will be a member of a small team working with designers to ensure our systems meet the rigorous standards required to ensure safe and reliable operation. These requirements demand both hardware and software assurance, and thorough documentation at all stages of development. The Senior Certification Engineer will develop requirements that involve all major subsystems of a delivery system, from sensors and electronics to system interfaces and support equipment. It is important to have experience establishing formal requirements, testing, analysis, and documentation of a new design. This experience will be utilized over the lifecycle of a new Raytheon product, from design to fielding. You will use your experience as a system engineer to develop and execute trade studies, requirements development and flow-down, performance characterization and validation, and requirements verification. Required Education, Skills and Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Aerospace Engineering. (4) Years of experience in architecture and design of systems including some assignments with nuclear certification responsibilities. Applied work experience involving electronics design, test, and analysis. Applied work experience involving software design, test, and analysis. Experience managing suppliers and coordinating subsystem solutions with them. Experience generating specifications and statements-of-work. Experience leading teams of technologists. Security Clearance Requirement: Must currently have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) issued Secret Security Clearance. Top Secret or DOE Q clearance preferred. Desired Education, Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate will be viewed as an expert and serve as a consultant to the organization in determining and developing required architectures and technologies to achieve organization growth objectives in the area of nuclear certified software and hardware systems. Excellent system engineering, software development, or analysis skills. Experience in performance of requirements management tasks The ability to interface effectively with customers and IPT members. Excellent written and oral communication skills. This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
