To provide level 1 technical support and maintenance for the Wintel Midrange support services by resolving incidents, work orders and change requests in the required timeframes. The role involves working in field services as applicable based inAmberley QLD
Monitor systems in line with pre-defined operational controls, processes and requirements.
Assist with implementation and maintenance of the business recovery plan and procedures.
Suggest and/or implement solutions to resolve problems and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Supports the coordination of the processing environment and software distribution, upgrades and maintenance.
Administer central and/or distributed computer systems.
Be available for on call roster, cyclic maintenance, DR, high severity issue resolution periodically as part of the defined support model
Implement system changes as requested by end users
Run and distribute defined system management reports
Prepare and distribute ad-hoc system management reports as requested
Support the Incident, Event, Problem and Change Management structure
Maintain network fabric interconnect, server and storage equipment within datacentre
Provide on-site assistance to remote resolver groups when necessary
Daily walk through of DC to physically check servers (lights on, fan noise, HVAC, etc.)
Hard drive swap out, includes HDD destruction, registering new drive in CDR
Work with network team to rectify network issues, trace and replace faulty patch leads
Rectify Blade Server device error
Work effectively in a team environment, identify and escalate any identified need for improvement to the Team Leader
Experience and Qualifications Required:
Relevant Tertiary Qualification or equivalent 3-5 years’ experience
2 years relevant experience working in a Wintel Technical Support/Engineer role is highly desirable
Previous experience in a team environment desirable but not essential
A current NV1 is required for this role with the ability to obtain NV2.
