PLC Controls Engineer

Position

Summary:

Develop

and maintain production equipment programming; including but not limited to

PLC, Robot and Camera systems.Provide sound technical support to the production area

to include process improvements, new equipment implementation as well as new

project support. Help develop new process methods, design and implement those

methods.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Specialty Programming (Robot, Camera System)

  • Maintain

and implement changes to production automation equipment programming

  • Troubleshoot

production automation equipment/fixturing/ programming and teach technical

associates the same

  • Specify,

justify, and/or purchase industrial automation software/ hardware for new

equipment/processes

  • Develop

and/or maintain standard PLC program in a global team

  • Support

global projects and plants during acquisition, industrialization and series

production phases, especially during commission and troubleshooting

  • Review

and define electrical hardware specifications

  • Create

and/or maintain technical documentation

  • Compliance

with all internal and external Production Quality Management Systems and Group

Directives.

  • Provide

support in developing manufacturing methods and processes.

  • Coordinate

launch of new assembly processes.

  • Assist

Process Technicians in project work and machine down situations.

  • Assist

with integration to production equipment of customer order processing system

  • Other

Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the associate is exposed to an

office atmosphere with some manufacturing floor exposure.

Essential

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering

  • 3-4 years of related experience

  • Strong computer skills

  • Good communication skills.

Preferred

Skills and experience:

  • Prior experience in

manufacturing and assembly environment, cost analysis, pneumatics and

hydraulics.

  • Proficient with Siemens S7

programming and HMI systems.
