The Role

This position will support the FPSO Marine Systems Manager through the design, construction, delivery, installation, hook-up, commissioning and handover to operations of the Barossa FPSO hull, turret and moorings. The marine project engineer will play a major role in ensuring the suitability of the design to the functional requirements, applicable regulations and contractor specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and provide technical knowledge for Offshore Transportation & Installation (T&I) scopes Provide Marine expertise and act as conduit to broader marine team Lend expertise on FPSO, installation aids and dry and wet tows from fabrication and integration to offshore sites Support field installation, technical documentation, product design review and validation, technical planning, customer interface, and project execution Knowledgeable of industry codes and standards applicable to offshore oil & gas facilities design, construction and installation Review installation work plans, pre-task planning and methods, and provide company representation in monitoring contractor's installation-related activities Participate in relevant reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, ALARP and QRA updates and vessel inspections Manage interfaces & integration between marine and the other technical disciplines involved in FPSO design & construction Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required BS/MS in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or similar degree Minimum of 5 years of Engineering experience in offshore projects Knowledgeable of industry codes and standards applicable to offshore oil & gas facilities design, construction and installation Previous experience with transportation and installation of floating facilities Willing to relocate to the FPSO Contractor’s design office, fabrication and integration yard and finally to the offshore installation location. Awareness of Marine Acts and Legislation (International / Commonwealth and State) and Industry guidelines


FPSO Operations Experience Knowledge of Australian Regulatory Regime or experience with Safety Case development Highly effective organization & communication skills; ability to coordinate across functions and develop/present management reports at all levels. Experience working in a multicultural team in a diverse cultural environment.
